George Thanopoulos , , , Chief Executive Officer

George Thanopoulos was named our Chief Executive Officer in August 2014 in connection with the merger of Grede, HHI and Metaldyne and has served on our board of directors since August 2014. Mr. Thanopoulos is the founder of HHI and served as its Chief Executive Officer since September 2005. Prior to founding HHI, he was a group president of Oldco M Corporation (the former Metaldyne Corporation) and, prior to that, held multiple positions at MascoTech, Inc., the predecessor company to Oldco M Corporation, over a 15-year period, including engineering, plant management and executive management. Mr. Thanopoulos served as a member of the board of directors of Global Brass and Copper Holdings, Inc., a converter, fabricator, distributor and processor of specialized copper and brass products in North America, from 2011 to 2014. Mr. Thanopoulos also served as a director of JL French Automotive Castings, Inc., a supplier of die cast aluminum components and assemblies, from 2006 to 2012 and as a director of Chassis Brakes International, a supplier of automotive foundation brakes and brake components, from 2012 to 2013. Mr. Thanopoulos holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Michigan. Mr. Thanopoulos was chosen as our director because of his extensive experience in management and in the manufacturing industry.

Mark Blaufuss , , , Chief Financial Officer

Mark Blaufuss was named our Chief Financial Officer in August 2014 in connection with the merger of Grede, HHI and Metaldyne. Mr. Blaufuss has also served as Metaldyne’s Chief Financial Officer since May 2011. Prior to joining Metaldyne, Mr. Blaufuss held the Chief Financial Officer position at United Components, Inc., an aftermarket automotive parts supplier, from September 2009 to April 2011, and at Axletech International, a planetary axles supplier, from April 2007 to September 2009. He also worked as director of AlixPartners, a consulting firm, Corporate Controller of JPE, Inc., an automotive parts supplier, and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Blaufuss acted as CFO for Stonebridge Industries, Inc. until 2004. Stonebridge Industries, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2005. Mr. Blaufuss holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Douglas Grimm , , , President & Chief Operating Officer

Douglas Grimm was named President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) in December 2015. He was previously Co-President in connection with the merger of Grede, HHI and Metaldyne starting in August 2014. Mr. Grimm has also served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grede and its legacy business, Citation Corporation since January 2008. Prior to co-founding Grede Holdings LLC, Mr. Grimm served as Vice President—Global Ford, Materials Management, Powertrain Electronics & Fuel Operations of Visteon Corporation, from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that time, Mr. Grimm spent five years at Metaldyne as a Vice President in various executive positions, including Commercial Operations, General Manager of forging and casting operations as well as having responsibility for global purchasing and quality. Before joining Metaldyne in 2001, Mr. Grimm was with Dana Corporation, in 1994 and served in various executive positions including Vice President - Global Strategic Sourcing. Prior to that, Mr. Grimm spent 10 years at Chrysler Corporation in progressive Management positions. Mr. Grimm has been recognized for his accomplishments including:

  • Chairman, Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) (2016 – Present)
  • Chairman, Original Equipment Supplier Association (OESA) (2013 – 2014)
  • EY-Entrepreneur of the Year (regional winner in 2012 and finalist in 2011)
  • Crain’s Detroit best large deal of the year (2010)

Mr. Grimm holds a B.A. degree in Economics & Management from Hiram College (OH), where he is a member of the Board of Trustees, and an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit.

Tom Dono , , , EVP, General Counsel and Secretary

Tom Dono was named MPG’s executive vice president, general counsel and secretary in July, 2016. In this role he has responsibility for all MPG legal affairs, including management of internal and external resources. Mr. Dono has extensive legal experience in the automotive industry, international law, compliance as well as mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining MPG, Mr. Dono served as senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel at Key Safety Systems. Before this, he was a division counsel at Delphi Corporation, the assistant general counsel at Metaldyne, and an associate at the international law firms of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Dono holds a law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) – School of Law, and holds a degree in economics and business management from Stony Brook University.

Russell Bradley , , , Executive Vice President of Sales

Russell Bradley was named our Executive Vice President of Sales at Metaldyne Performance Group (MPG) in December 2015. He previously held the Executive Vice President of Sales position for HHI Holdings. Mr. Bradley brings more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience to MPG. He began his career at Jernberg Industries in 1989 as a Sales Engineer, joining HHI Holdings during its acquisition of Jernberg Industries in 2005. As a member of the HHI executive team, Russ was deeply involved in building quality long-term relationships and driving both acquisitions and organic growth strategies that grew the company to the leading manufacturer of highly engineered, safety-critical forged components in North America. Mr. Bradley is a highly accomplished sales professional who has led all five of HHI’s divisions through turnarounds, integration and growth modes. Mr. Bradley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Elmhurst College.

David Gann , , , VP, Investor Relations & Communications

David Gann was named our Vice President of Investor Relations and Communications in April 2016. He previously held the Director of Finance position for Metaldyne with responsibility for leading all finance and accounting activities. Mr. Gann has been with the company and predecessor companies for over 14 years assisting the organization with their strategic growth and corporate development initiatives. He has held various financial positions focusing on cost reductions and cash flow improvements. He has also executed numerous assignments connected to the company's growth strategy, investment opportunities, acquisitions, divestitures, turn-around restructuring and recapitalization activities. Prior to joining Metaldyne he worked for Arthur Andersen, LLP. Mr. Gann holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Paul Suber , , , VP, Business Development & Manufacturing Excellence

Paul Suber was named Vice President, Business Development and Manufacturing Excellence in April 2016. He previously held the positon of Vice President of Business Development and Investor Relations at MPG. Paul also served as Grede’s Vice President of Business Development and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team since 2006. Paul joined Grede in 2006 as Group Vice President of the company's ductile iron division, where he was responsible for operations such as manufacturing, finance and quality. Previously, he worked for Dana Corporation for more than 22 years, where he held a number of managerial positions. His career includes more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering and quality. Paul earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and an M.B.A from the University of Toledo in Ohio. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

Gary Ford , , , VP, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller

Gary Ford was named Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller in April 2016. Mr. Ford previously held the role of Vice President and Controller for MPG in connection with the merger of HHI, Metaldyne and Grede in August 2014. Prior to his role at MPG, Mr. Ford held the position of Vice President and Corporate Controller at HHI. Prior to joining HHI, Mr. Ford held roles as the Insurance Controller, Senior Director of Accounting Policy and Director of Accounting Policy and SEC Reporting for Ally Financial. He also worked at Ingersoll Rand, AVX Corporation, Bundy Corporation and Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He has over 20 years of experience in various accounting roles within the manufacturing and financial services industries. Mr. Ford is a Certified Public Accountant and holds BBA and MAcc degrees from the University of Michigan.

Jan van Dijk , , , VP, Tax & Treasurer

Jan van Dijk was named MPG’s Vice President of Tax and Treasurer in August 2014. In this role, he leads MPG’s global treasury, tax and risk management functions. Prior to his current position, Mr. van Dijk served as the Treasurer and Corporate Controller of Metaldyne (an MPG company), and as a Controller for several Metaldyne operating divisions. Before joining MPG, he worked for Corus Group (now Tata Steel Europe) in various finance and accounting roles, and Ernst & Young LLP. He holds a business degree from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
